Hello, hello, hello!

Welcome to my little home on the web...and thanks for being here!

I’m a mom and stepmom who loves all things mystery, Halloween, animals (wild and domestic), and outdoorsy stuff, from wildlife photography to camping and four-wheeling. I’m also a wife (to a crazy Cuban) and mom to three fur kids: a 100-pound German Shepherd (nobody is joking when they say the breed are velcro dogs - 6 years in and I still can’t go to the bathroom alone, a German Shepherd puppy (what was I thinking???), and a 30-pound Maine Coon cat who regularly does Kung Fu on the two dogs. My family calls me either Missy, Mel or Mom, and sometimes I hear all three at once, so there are times I think my name is actually MissyMelMom. At home there is generally a hockey game on, Halloween decorations still up from previous years and dog and cat hair everywhere, no matter how much I vacuum. I’m told I throw an “epic” Halloween party (which is the only way I can get The Husband to clean the yard), and my daughter thinks I have a Peet’s coffee problem (but hey, there are worse problems than coffee). I get through life with a lot of humor, too many true crime podcasts and a healthy dose of sarcasm, all topped off with essential oils and crystals.
